Perkiomen Valley School District voters approve EIT
Voters in the Perkiomen Valley School District have approved the ballot question which favored eliminating the current occupational assessment tax and replacing it with a .4% increase in the earned income tax for a total EIT amount of .9%. The occupational assessment tax assessed people according to job titles and was determined by the school board to be an antiquated way of collecting taxes. Once the vote is official, the occupational assessment will be eliminated on July 10, 2010.
